Well in my personal experience when I did p90x I didn't follow the diet plan and have seen amazing results. Im 16 so I dot really cook and whatever my mom makes I'm pretty much forced to eat lol but p90x still worked for me. As far as I know there isn't any other alternatives so I would suggest taking a protein powder to help your body get in the extra protein required to build muscle. So basically in my opinion the meal plan isn't really necessary just work hard and keep hitting play everyday and you should see awesome results :)
