What type of digital camera (not a video cam) can record good videos?

I'm 14 and my parents are getting me a digital cam for my birthday. My friends and I were thinking about making a film just for the fun of it. But the thing is my parents budget is around a thousand dollars (Malaysian ringgit) and I want a digital camera that can record GOOD videos. Not videos that make your voice sound echo-ed or like a robots or something. In short I'm asking if any of you have any good suggestions on what digital cam can record videos that are as good quality as what you see on television.
