What is going on with my son's ear?

Ok-my son has tubes in his ears. Never had any problems w/them or anymore ear infections. He just had bronchitis about 2wks ago & was on Omnicef for 10 days. Now, since Friday, he has had wax & clear fluid running out of just 1 ear. He has been running a low grade fever also. He just got up from a nap & his breath stinks really bad(don't know if it's because he may have slept w/his mouth open). Also, he's been extremely fussy. His doc was closed on Friday or I would have taken him in. I plan on trying to get him in tomorrow. But I was just wondering what this could possibly be? Also, his ear stinks REALLY bad. I was told it could be a bacterial infection, but I thought that's what the tubes were for-to keep infections out? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
